March 27, 2014 – Peer Support for ICWA Directors

Open to all Tribes, the Training and Technical Assistance Coordination Center (TTACC), in partnership with the National Resource Center for Tribes (NRC4Tribes), hosted a Webinar for Tribal ICWA Directors on March 27, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. eastern time, 12:00 p.m. central, 11:00 a.m. mountain, 10:00 a.m. Pacific, and 9:00 a.m. Alaska time. The Webinar featured a Tribal ICWA Director sharing experiences in ways to manage a Tribal ICWA program – from handling challenges such as lack of resources and personnel to experiencing the success when Tribal families benefit from the Federal Indian Child Welfare Act. The Webinar discussed coordination and collaborations to manage case transfers and caseloads as well as:

  • Timely notifications
  • Resources for travel to transfer cases
  • How to mitigate burnout
  • Employee turnover
  • Engaging Tribal leaders to support ICWA
  • How this information pertains to Needs Assessment Recommendation #6: Build tribal child welfare peer networks

November 8, 2012 - Promoting the Development and Maintenance of Successful Tribal Foster Care and Adoption Programs

This fourth webinar entitled, Promoting the Development and Maintenance of Successful Tribal Foster Care and Adoption Programs, will provide information about the findings of the NRC4Tribes needs assessment, how to access free TA through the T/TA Network, a discussion on T/TA available to help improve tribal foster care and adoption programs, and a discussion by a foster care and adoption specialist with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

June 30, 2010 - Webinar Recording: National Child Welfare Resource Center for Tribes

The NRC4Tribes conducted a Children's Bureau webinar to an audience of 69 participants providing an overview of who we are, who our partner agencies are, to explain our Vision, Mission, Philosophies, and Guiding Principles that we developed as we work together with the Children's Bureau to implement the NRC4Tribes. We also discussed our upcoming workplans and activities as well as the National Tribal T/TA Needs Assessment plans that were currently underway.
